The rebate is based on the purchase or sales price of the home you are buying or selling, and is based on a minimum of 3%
commission. If the realtor commission is less than 3%, your rebate will be pro-rata and will be less than shown above.
The rebate is paid for by the real estate agent and comes from the real estate agent commission and is at no cost to you, the customer.
Nothing. $0. The rebate is a cashback incentive offered to you as the buyer and or seller simply for using a realtor in the network. There is no fee for you to use the program.
No. The IRS has ruled that the rebate is “a reduction in the cost basis of the home” and is nontaxable. The rebate is similar to a rebate that consumers receive back when buying any product (like a television) offering a manufacturer’s rebate.
